Good populace,
We have survived another Imperial Crown War. This was uncontested and therefore a fun war. While I'm sure the autocrat will be offering up an official announcement, I wish to unofficially say that in the war between the French and the English... the uprising led by the Irish won.
A grand coalition of those tired of the endless English and French wars formed bringing together representatives from Poland, Germany, various other Celtic peoples, individuals of unknown ancestry all ready to throw off the yoke of war expectations and ensure that we all had a grand good time.
Combat was tight but the Irish uprising, helped by the steel champions battle which, inexplicably, featured Irish army vs Irish army took a slight lead.
Archery was not as helpful to us although I think there were some points garnered by Sir Griff who also took the steel tournament win (again) and the steel champion war point (for the Irish).
Best of all, the Irish absolutely swept the arts behind a Masterwork submitted by Mew who, beyond anchoring a completely unexpected war win for an army that wasn't supposed to exist, also wishes to share credit for the masterwork with those who helped review and provided constructive criticism for the new documentation template she has been working on (without looking at paperwork I believe those were in particular Dame Aurora, Master Sasha, and Lunzie Copper). We will be refining the document further and working to make it available as a usable template for all aspiring artisans.
It was a good war, we burned the skulls of our fallen enemies (in effigy of course because there were no true enemies on the field), there was good and honorable combat, much laughter, and old geezers busily trying to teach newer folk how to improve. I'm also quite sure I did not suggest a strategy to Dame Lucielle that involved a rush and stabbing Princess Pufos in his personal protection.
At the beginning of the event, being the ever dutiful crown for the empire, I raised the Imperial flag on the main flag pole of the campsite... at the end, upon becoming certain that the Irish uprising had carried the day the Imperial flag mysteriously disappeared and a pirate flag flew in its place to mark the chaos and fun. The pirate flag was intended to also honor our dear departed Matilda who always wanted to be a pirate and, I will swear I could hear cackling gleefully as the flag went up.
Thank you to all who made it out to war and fought for anybody as well as fighting the heat. For those who could not make it we missed you and look forward to the next time we get to all share in good company and camaraderie.
